Misconceptions.

1.There's Actual Grind in guild wars.

2. Its cool and acceptable to bring droks armor/elite skills to the introductory pvp areas.

3. That anyone wants to buy 90% of the crap being spammed WTS everywhere I go.

4. That there really is such a thing as a "mission only group" at Iron Mines.

5. That PvE and PVP-Only characters are balanced and should be in competition with each other.

6. That anyone, in any class, is intended to solo in the Favor dependant areas.

7. That Mesmers dont pull thier wieght in PVE every bit as much as pvp.

8. That any class should ever charge anything for doing thier job, no matter how well they do it.

9. That the measure of how good a player you are is how much money/items you accumulate, or even your rank in PvP...

A little more:

- Water Elementalists DO exist!
- Air Spike Eles are NOT the only option in PvP.
- Rest! or Wait! does NOT mean running fast to the next group of red dots.
- E/Mos can be healers with a bit bar tweaking, you do NOT have to stick to self-heal.
- Calling target does NOT mean each one to attack a different mob (this is for you Wa/Mo, you know who you are). Also, if someone says "Get the monk first" do NOT go for the warriors...
- 2 healers + 1 protector does NOT give you a win in Tombs. There are other ways.
- You do NOT need your armor dyed in black.
- You do NOT have to rez the rusher the second time he rush all those red dots. He is better lied on the floor that aggroing everything to the group. *Hint* /ignore
- It is better to write down wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwEnter in the middle of a fight than stay still while you backspace them. *Hint* Shift+Home/End selects the whole text
- You do NOT need to farm for money. You get all the money you need by just playing the game. *Hint* collector items

- Insulting your monk does not mean he will heal you or anyone else any better than he is already.
- Just because Im an elementalist with a sword does not mean I dont know what Im doing.
- Running from fight to fight as fast as you can, is not a good idea.

Some random thought on the points in earlier posts...

I've been lucky. I think I've only been in one truly god-awful PUG, and that was awful in a funny way - I've never laughed so much on a mission. Actually one of the best/most rewarding PUGs I've been in, for the comedy value. Plus we completed.
All other times my PUG's have been decent and in many cases very good.

Truth. If I was a healer I'd not bother healing anyone who called anyone n00b. They certainly fall right down to the bottom of my 'remove hexes & conditions and annoy their opponents' list as a mesmer.

Orange is the worst, IMO. Only rangers & monks can wear orange IMO.

Well... It'll be easier with a monk, but Alesia, Mhenlo & Lina is quite sufficient.

I wish that were true. I've played too many teams where the 13-year-olds have suddenly realized there's a female on the team, and the result is always a sharp rise in testosterone/suave. I always advice female gamers, especially young ones, to not broadcast the fact that they're female and don't use voice comm unless they have to/know the others playing. It sucks, it's stupid, but the alternative is heavy breathing and questions about the color of their knickers.

Depends. Thom and Stefan will use their speed boost to charge the enemy, so if the geography means you can't call them off before they enter the aggro-bubble of the mob, then you can not pull without having them charge.
If you don't bring warriors, then you can pull as much as you like, the other henches wont charge.

IMO it's usually NOT a good plan. Monks in random arena are 9 times out of 10 smiter/protectors: better tanks than any warrior and with self-heal to boot. It's much more effective to take the soft targets first: mesmers & necros.

It's been weird - everything after Ascension has been ridiculously easy this time. I have a crappy build and so-so gear, and yet everything dies almost instantly when I poke it with the sword. It's like they have 100 HP or something. I can kill a group of lvl 24 dwarves much faster than I could kill a group of lvl 12's in North Shiverpeak, and I don't know why.

actually, it is realtively easy to pull even with thom and stefan. as long as the enemies are not targeted by you, you can nick their aggro bubble and pull back, 9/10 without the tanks charging. as long as you dont target the enemies, you can almost always do it.
